Tradeshows - Lead Generation

Do you find that your business is not generating new and fresh leads on a regular basis? It could be that simply are not putting your image out there where consumers can find it!

Tradeshows make it easy!

Whether you are a wholesaler, a retailer or an internet service provider, there is a tradeshow designed for businesses like yours to get the word out there. Sure, from the surface it looks like the product and service offerings are the main focus. However, as a business owner you need to look well-beyond the surface of trade shows.

What matters is PERCEPTION.

Tradeshows are about image. They are about getting your image out there to consumers and more importantly – to other businesses.

In order to prepare for a tradeshow, you should definitely do the following things to make sure that you are presenting the best possible image and getting out the information that is important to your intended audience.

Always be PREPARED. If you are unfamiliar with a particular trade show, and do not know anyone who has participated as an exhibitor it might be best to attend the shows as a consumer first in order to determine whether it really is a good fit for your marketing strategy.

Know your audience. If you are attending a trade show where the attendees are b2b buyers, then you need to market the benefits of your products and services with a technical and business oriented approach. However, if consumers are your audience, they could care less about statistics and the name of your new CEO.

Advertise! If you are going to attend a trade show, it’s a great idea to tell people in advance. Put the time and date, along with your exhibit number on your website, business cards or other marketing pieces. What a better way to get the word out there!

Remember that trade shows may not be the best marketing approach for every company, however if there is a niche show coming to your area in the near future it is definitely worth investigating!
